Holidays & Special Events
SUMMER AT THE FARM.
As usual the farm has a busy summer programme this year, for all ages and most of the activities are free. As well as popping in and enjoying a wide range of afternoon activities, if your child is eight+ and likes animals, they can help with mucking out and feeding and stay all day. They need to arrive at the farm at 9am and on their first day must have an accompanying adult to fill out relevant registration forms and have a chat about health and safety. Lunch is at midday and they will need a packed lunch or money to pop out and buy something to eat. Old clothes, old trainers or welly boots are a must, a jacket in case it rains, and sun-tan lotion in the hope that its sunny.
Children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
THE SUMMER PROGRAMME STARTS ON MONDAY 26th JULY AND KEEPS GOING UNTIL SUNDAY 5th SEPTEMBER.
The Farm will be closed for the day on 10th August as we are going to Clacton. Please do join - make your own way there and meet us on the day.
GAMES - Monday's from 1pm to 3pm - (ages 8+)

Activities include creative playtime such as painting, drawing and crafts, song and rhymes and baking.

GOAT PETTING (all ages)
We have trained some of our young volunteers to help you and your child spend time with the goats and show you where to wash your hands after contact. GOAT PETTING sessions will take place everyday between 11am and midday and again in the afternoons between 3pm and 4pm. HOWEVER this activity relies on our young volunteers and staffing, so to save disappointment, please make sure you phone the farm on the day you plan to visit, to check whether the sessions are running.
OWN A PONY (ages 8+). Costs £20 and must be booked in advance.
Starting time 10am to midday, children spend the morning working with the horses and enjoy a short riding lesson too. Due to it's popularity last summer, we are extending OWN A PONY mornings. This year they will run on from Tuesday 27th July to Friday 30th July and on Wednesday 11th, 18th and 25th August. Places go quickly.
